The Buffalo Public Schools have extended the deadline to Friday, October 7, 2022 to register current Buffalo Public School students enrolled in grades 4 ,6, and 8 to take the admissions test for City Honors/Olmsted at their home schools; grade 4 students are automatically registered to take the exam. Please complete the registration slip located at the bottom of the admissions testing letter mailed home and return it to the main office of your child’s school by October 7, 2022. If you don’t have the letter, please contact your child’s school.
The City Honors/Olmsted test will also be available on the following three Saturdays for students coming from private and charter schools or unable to attend the testing at their current BPS school:
-October 15, 2022
-October 22, 2022
-November 19, 2022.

Placement of students to our magnet school setting is not managed at the school level and is fully and completely managed by the Buffalo Public Schools. For questions, please call the BPS Student Placement and Registration Office at 816-3717 or visit the website of the BPS Student Placement and Registration Office.
Please be aware, on February 15, 2017, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, issued this resolution adjusting the order of students who will be placed at City Honors and Olmsted Schools.

Families interested in the STARS Programs (Students with Autism Rising to Success) at City Honors, Olmsted or the Arts Academy, should contact the Buffalo Public School Special Education Placement Office at 816.4746.
Please note that the Buffalo Public Schools require residency in the city of Buffalo for your child to participate/sit for the admissions test. Charter and private school families must provide evidence to verify they are residents of the city.
