Fall 2023 Saturday placement testing for students interested in attending City Honors or Olmsted Middle/HS will take place on October 14, October 21 and November 18 for all students currently attending:
-private or charter schools in grades 4,5,6,7,8
-BPS schools in grades 5 or 7
The flyer at this link contains important information about pre-registration for Saturday testing. Please be sure to read this if your child falls into the categories above.
All current BPS students in grades 4, 6 and 8 will be offered the City Honors/Olmsted test at their current school building during the fall. Please contact your child's school for the testing date at their building.

Placement of students to our magnet school setting is not managed at the school level and is fully and completely managed by the Buffalo Public Schools. Please be aware, on February 15, 2017, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, issued this resolution adjusting the order of students who will be placed at City Honors and Olmsted Schools.

Please note that the Buffalo Public Schools require residency in the city of Buffalo for your child to participate/sit for the admissions test. Charter and private school families must provide evidence to verify they are residents of the city.
