The STARS (STudents with Autism Rising to Success) program provides students with autism a tailored instructional experience with support from a team of educators specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
City Honors School is a public, grade 5-12, theme-based magnet school. Established to bring together students of diverse backgrounds throughout the city, CHS fosters lessons in understanding, cooperation and leadership for the benefit of future generations. For this reason, the STARS program has become an important part of the school’s mission and identity. Through interaction, both students in the STARS program and those in the traditional education program at City Honors learn and grow from their experiences with one another. Since the founding of the STARS Program at City Honors in 2005, the Buffalo Public Schools have created two additional STARS programs at the Arts Academy and the Olmsted Middle/High School.
